Contract Negotiation Update

We want to thank everyone for their continued support and involvement as we move through the collective bargaining process. IBEW 237 is committed to securing the best possible contract for all employees—one that reflects the priorities you've shared through employee mailers and during our monthly meetings.

We are aggressively pursuing improvements in key areas such as wages, benefits, and working conditions. While we understand there is strong interest in specific details, it's important to note that sharing exact numbers or proposals publicly during negotiations can undermine our bargaining strength.

Please know that your voice is being heard, and we are fighting for a contract that delivers real value for you and your families. We’ll continue to provide general updates as negotiations progress and will share more when the time is right.

Stop by either session October 28 2pm and 6pm at the IBEW 237 union hall to discuss Reworld's proposed contract language. The meetings will start at the posted start times and last approx. 1 hour. Please be on time.

Any changes in hours, wages and working conditions must be negotiated with IBEW 237 by law. Please let us know of any changes outside of routine/ situational changes that may typically happen on the day to day.

Reworld Niagara employees are entitled to their Weingarten rights

WEINGARTEN RIGHTS

Weingarten rights, established by the Supreme Court in 1975, guarantee unionized employees the right to have a union representative present during investigatory interviews where they reasonably believe discipline or termination may result. These rights are not automatically granted, the employee must explicitly request representation. The employer can then either grant the request, deny it and end the interview, or offer the choice between proceeding without representation or ending the interview
